Wyatt Smith won both of his series and Joe Sherwin swept his opener as the Denver Christian esports team beat Elbert in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The Thunder took the best-of-five match three series to one, winning seven of the 10 games played.

Joe Sherwin opened the match with a 2-0 series win over Brady Tjapkes, taking both games on Battlefield. Elbert answered in the second series when Emma Herbeck edged Jack Sherwin 2-1 in three games on Pokémon Stadium 2.

Smith then took over. He swept Braden Jones 2-0 on Battlefield to put the Thunder back in front, then clinched the match by beating Tjapkes 2-1 in a three-game series that went from Small Battlefield to Pokémon Stadium 2 to a deciding game on Final Destination.

The win evens Denver Christian at 2-2 on the season.
